Samsung’s “India #WithGalaxy” Campaign Sets Two Guinness World Records

Samsung has added another milestone to its global brand story with its recent photography initiative, “India #WithGalaxy,” which has officially earned recognition from Guinness World Records (GWR). The campaign, designed to highlight the imaging power of Samsung’s Galaxy S Series smartphones, secured two major global records by combining mass participation with large-scale digital content creation.

Running from December 30, 2025, to January 26, 2026, the “India #WithGalaxy” challenge invited users across the country to capture everyday moments using Galaxy S Series devices. The response was overwhelming. According to Samsung, a total of 31,331 images were submitted by participants nationwide, forming one of the largest smartphone-driven photography initiatives ever conducted in India.

Guinness World Record Recognition

The campaign was officially recognized for achieving two significant milestones:

  • The largest smartphone photography competition, and
  • The largest contribution to an online photo-based network.

The Guinness World Records acknowledgment was presented during a formal ceremony attended by senior executives from Samsung India, along with an official GWR adjudicator. The recognition underscores Samsung’s growing focus on community engagement and creative storytelling through mobile technology.

Celebrating India Through Four Themes

At its core, the “India #WithGalaxy” campaign aimed to create a visual mosaic of the nation, reflecting India’s cultural richness and everyday life through the lenses of its people. Participants were encouraged to submit photographs across four distinct themes:

  • Faces of India: Showcasing the country’s demographic diversity through portraits and human stories.
  • Sights of India: Capturing landscapes ranging from the snow-capped Himalayas to coastal views and iconic architectural landmarks.
  • Spirit of India: Highlighting candid moments from daily life that reflect resilience, emotion, and shared experiences.
  • Colours of India: Focusing on textures, traditional outfits, cuisine, festivals, and uniquely Indian visual elements.

Together, these categories allowed contributors to tell personal stories while collectively building a broader narrative of the nation.

Community-Driven Storytelling

Samsung emphasized that the initiative was not just about photography, but about community-driven storytelling. More than 30 regional photographers supported the campaign, mentoring participants and encouraging creative expression across different parts of the country. Their involvement helped boost participation at a grassroots level and ensured that diverse regional perspectives were represented.

The final collection of images came together as a large-scale digital artwork, highlighting India’s diversity, unity, and shared cultural identity. Samsung described the result as a visual representation of collective experiences, shaped by thousands of individual viewpoints.

Showcasing Galaxy S Series Imaging Capabilities

While the campaign celebrated creativity and participation, it also served as a powerful demonstration of the imaging capabilities of the Galaxy S Series. By relying entirely on user-generated content captured on Galaxy smartphones, Samsung reinforced its message around advanced camera technology, clarity, and versatility in real-world conditions.

Commenting on the achievement, Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President, MX Business, Samsung India, said:
“The India #WithGalaxy campaign unites people and celebrates the essence of a nation. By setting two Guinness World Records, we have showcased the capabilities of the Galaxy S Series and amplified the voices of our consumers who celebrate India’s diversity, beauty, and spirit through their lenses.”

A Record-Setting Moment for Mobile Creativity

With “India #WithGalaxy,” Samsung has successfully blended technology, creativity, and large-scale participation into a single record-breaking initiative. The campaign not only strengthens Samsung’s position in the smartphone imaging space but also demonstrates how mobile technology can bring millions together to tell a shared story—one photograph at a time.
